Statehood Day, the anniversary of the coronation of King Mindaugas, was officially celebrated in Warsaw

On July the 3rd, a reception to mark the coronation of King Mindaugas was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Poland.

The event was attended by representatives of Polish institutions, the diplomatic corps, the Lithuanian community, as well as representatives of the world of culture, business, media, and academia.

Welcoming the audience, Ambassador Valdemaras Sarapinas emphasized that we can be proud of what our Lithuania has become – a modern, recognized and valued state with reliable friends. And Lithuania has become such thanks to a united, courageous, freedom-loving, and creative nation.

During the reception, guests enjoyed an exclusive cultural program dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis. Guests also had the opportunity to listen to jazz arrangements of Čiurlionis's compositions performed by a Lithuanian-Polish jazz quartet led by Kęstutis Vaiginis.

An equally important part of the event is an exhibition of M. K. Čiurlionis's photographs from the collection of the M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art. We would like to thank the Tadeusz Lużyński Marki Cultural Centre for presenting this virtual reality experience, specially prepared for the Year of Marki K. Čiurlionis.

We would like to thank the event sponsors who made this day so special:
